Where should I park?
Parking is free and widely available in and around the park.
How long is the route?
1.7 miles around the park. Remember: this course is non-competitive. Please stay within the designated path and course.
Since this is not a timed walk, we encourage you to check the timer as you pass the start and finish lines if you’d like to track your time.
What is and isn’t allowed on walk day?
The Walk is wheelchair friendly, and the park does allow dogs but they MUST be on a leash at ALL TIMES.
No personal tents, canopies, tables or chairs are permitted.
Is there a minimum age to participate?
No, there is not a minimum age requirement. All are welcome to join the Walk to END EPILEPSY. All participants must Register. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at the event. And remember, kids can raise funds, too!
How should I prepare for event day?
WE DO NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL WALK SHIRT. In preparation for event day, make sure to dress appropriately for the weather; don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses and your comfortable shoes. In case of inclement weather, bring an umbrella or rain jacket and wear LOTS OF EFAZ SHIRTS, PURPLE, AND PRE-ORDER A SFE SHIRT TO WEAR HERE
***MAKE SURE TO ORDER YOUR SHIRT NO LATER THAN 2/16 TO ENSURE YOU RECEIVE IT BEFORE WALK DAY ON 3/8!***

Don’t forget to bring along any cash or check donations you’ve collected, and be sure to fill out the donor form (found under “Resources” in your Participant Center!) so they get their receipt for their support. On event day, checks can be made payable to Epilepsy Foundation Arizona.
What happens if it rains?
Walk is a rain or shine event. However, Walk may be cancelled in cases of severe weather; event staff will notify participants of alternate plans.
Is there any special recognition for people who have epilepsy?
FAMILIES AND FRIENDS WHO’VE BEEN AFFECTED BY SUDEP (SUDDEN UNEXPECTED DEATH IN EPILEPSY)
This year we’ll be giving special recognition and honor to families, friends, and individuals who’ve been affected by SUDEP or Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. If you’ve lost a loved one to SUDEP, will be attending our 2020 Walk, and would like them honored on our SUDEP Remembrance Wall, we encourage you to email Arizona’s SUDEP Ambassador, Anne, the following:
- Their name
- A photo
- A brief message (5-7 sentences)
Please email these to Anne at AZSUDEP@gmail.com no later than Thursday, March 5th 2020.
Can I purchase food or drinks?
Food can be purchased from multiple food truck vendors during the event, and water stations will be placed throughout the course as well as at the event site.
What activities can I participate in on Walk Day?
Throughout the event, there will be various activities and sights for you to explore, including a “Get Purple!” station, DIY Walk station, face painting, balloon maker, bounce houses, food trucks, games, activity booths and more!
